Each of the Super Eagles’ players pocketed the sum of $30,000 on Wednesday night as the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) quickly redeemed its agreement with the team after qualification for the quarter finals of the African Cup of Nations.

A 3-0 win over Mozambique took Nigeria to the tournament’s last eight and the players were handed their hefty bonus as they returned to their Hotel Serra da Chela from the Tundavala Stadium in Lubango.

Head Coach Shuaibu Amodu pocketed double that amount while the assistant coaches were paid the usual 75 per cent of the Head Coach’s entitlement.

The players and officials had earlier been paid appearance fee for the Cup finals, which saw each player pick up $3,000.

The bonuses for the knock –out stage of the competition are graduated.
