TSG Hoffenheim of Germany striker, Chinedu Ogbuke Obasi (Edu) has eventually opened up on the line of events that put an end to all talk about a possible move to Arsenal for him, but says there was more speculation to the story than reality.
Although the former Lyn Oslo of Norway attacker admitted that he heard talk about him linking forces with The Gunners, he insists it was all a rumour and nothing concrete.
Obasi went on to confess that his biggest desire is to eventually play for a club in the English Premier League, but says it would happen only if a concrete deal comes his way.
Obasi says he also has a soft-spot for The Gunners, but wonders why they stopped short of putting their cards open on the table at the height of speculations about a deal coming his way from The Emirates.
"All these were rumours because I did not sit down with any club to discuss a move.
"I also read the reports and each time I read something new, I laughed it off. Arsenal is a great club and I would have loved to play there but there was no deal on the table," said the Holland 2005 WYC and Beijing 2008 Olympics silver medalist.
